For DSAU families, navigating the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to go it alone. IEP scholarships provide funding for expert guidance and advocacy, helping you secure the best possible educational outcomes for your child.

🎯 Who Can Utilize the Program?

All families who have a loved one with Down syndrome between the ages of 3 and 21 can receive support from the IEP Advocate Scholarship Program.

📊 Program Details

  • Provides IEP Advocate support up to 15 hours per child per school year
  • Scholarship period: July 1st to June 30th each school year
  • A new application must be completed each year
  • If your family has multiple children with Down syndrome, complete an application for each child

✅ Requirements

  • Enrolled in a DSAU membership
  • Reside in our service area: Upstate of South Carolina
  • Confirmed diagnosis of Down syndrome
  • Between the ages of 3 and 21 (3K–high school)

🤝 Scholarship Commitments

To receive support, applicants agree to complete 1 of the following 3 options by the end of the scholarship contract period:

Raise $250

2️⃣

Volunteer

Volunteer 4 hours

3️⃣

Combo

Raise $150 and volunteer 2 hours

📝 Important: All scholarship recipients will be required to complete a survey at the end of the year about their IEP experience to be eligible for future scholarships.
